David Corran

Managing Director

A veteran in the business having setup Dark Horse Agency back in 1991 there is little Dave doesn’t know. With a brain like a sponge Dave has an impressive ability to recall even the smallest detail about any of the products he’s worked on in his extensive career. He’s worked in many therapeutic areas over the last 25 years and is a font of wisdom albeit one that swears he suffers from idiopathic recurrent Tourettes, and many may agree!

Tom Mardling


With a background in Physiology, Tom moved from research to healthcare communications in 2003. Over the last decade he has worked in healthcare PR and marketing across a broad range of therapy areas for Global, European and National Brand Teams. Tom is a bit of a tech-addict with more screens on his desk than NASA’s launch control but he insists each has a function to optimise his workflow, which leads to a happy Tom and even happier clients!

Susan Ryan


With a background in graphic design before moving to healthcare communications over 16 years ago, Susan has the perfect combination of creativity, strategic thinking and account management skills and expertise. She also has a great eye for making things look their best, including our offices! Susan has a symbiotic (some may say telepathic) relationship with her clients working in partnership, creating a fantastic team that is not only work efficient but cost efficient too.

Jack Westley


Jack is old-school. He writes outstanding copy and is getting on board with the ever-increasing plethora of digital communications channels, one step at a time! With over 20 years in the industry, Jack is a heavyweight that packs a punch. He thrives on happy clients and good feedback so rest assured your priorities are his priorities. Expect nothing less than a first-class service and you will not be disappointed.

Alan Smith

Creative Director

With a flair for design as strong as his passion for golf, Alan delivers creative concepts that exceed the brief time and time again. With a background in FMCG and a great deal of experience in healthcare communications, Alan has an uncanny ability to repeatedly drill down to the crux of the matter and create something that embodies the brand’s core values in simple, direct and compelling visuals.
